True Nature
How often do you get outside and interact with nature? When was the last time you stopped to smell the fragrance of a beautiful flower or picked a fresh vegetable out of the garden? Can connecting with nature, whether growing your own food, tending a flower garden or taking a walk in the woods really provide health benefits? You bet! The research proves it.
As a registered horticultural therapist, I use plants and gardening to promote health and wellness. I work with individuals and groups in the recreational, therapeutic, and spiritual aspects of gardening from gardening fitness programs to simple rituals for making sacred connections with nature. I will happily provide a private session or group workshop tailored to your gardening interests or needs. My goal is to help you cultivate your "true nature" through gardening.
Horticultural Therapy
Grounding : Nourishing : Flourishing
Horticultural Therapy is the engagement of a client in horticultural activities facilitated by a trained therapist to achieve specific treatment goals. AHTA believes that horticultural therapy is an active process which occurs in the context of an established treatment plan where the process itself is considered the therapeutic activity rather than the end product. Horticultural therapy programs can be found in a wide variety of healthcare, rehabilitative, and residential settings.
Previous presentations have included: Get Fit in the Garden, Gardening for the Health of It!, Square Foot Gardening, Gardening and the Goddess, Creative Nature Masks and Plant Spirit Medicine Mandalas.
Please contact Carrie to schedule a private session or group workshop.
